Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet had its origin in connecting one computer network to another by use of various protocols, which resulted in a vast connection of networks. The Internet technology expanded to communication devices such as mobile phones, automobiles, remote monitoring devices, medical devices, kitchen devices, industrial equipmnent/devices and so on. Many such devices were referred to as Internet enabled devices. Thus the Internet has evolved into Internet of Things (IoT) (devices/things).

We are aware of many devices that send automated emails (SMTP) for specific scenarios, medical monitors that send message to physicians and other staff when an emergency occurs, maintenance remainder in cars, home security monitoring live feeds to mobile phones and similar situations. The IoT is constantly evolving with constant increase in computing power, M2M communication and with AI/ML features embedded in systems.
